Lunch with the Residents

Classical:NEXT in association with our local partners de Doelen and Operadagen Rotterdam will present for the second year two lunchtime concerts showcasing the best in classical and contemporary music from the Netherlands: Lunch with the Residents.

The first of these, taking place on Thursday, 26 May in the Rotterdam Schouwburg (the City Theatre) on the opposite side of the square in front of de Doelen. A special focus of Classical:NEXT 2016 is music theatre, and as part of this focus, we have teamed up with Operadagen Rotterdam to bring new work, work in progress, and pitches from the pioneering Dutch music theatre scene.

On Friday, 27 May, the Dutch stage will return to de Doelen: Four ensembles, playing short sets, each followed by a Q&A, a chance to get a bite to eat and to talk to the artists in the bar or foyer afterwards.

See below for alphabetical lists of all performers.

Lunch with the Residents' gives you a survey of the latest in the Dutch scene. We're proud to present these very 'next' artists, selected by the programmers of the most important venues in the Netherlands.
