International Attendance of Classical:NEXT
15 April: More than 450 delegates have signed up for Classical:NEXT 2012, the organizers said today, having processed all registrations made before the guide rate deadline of 31 March. It’s striking that the initiative for a new professionals forum for classical music has had a truly international impact: With less than a third of the attendees registered so far coming from Germany, more than 300 international classical music professionals from 33 countries spanning four continents will come to Munich for the debut edition of Classical:NEXT.
The intiative obviously has reached the critical mass to create an international buzz. Director Jennifer Dautermann is more than happy: “We were aiming for a balanced 50/50 ratio of German and international delegates. It is wonderful that we are about to exceed this goal already with our ‘beta version’ - Classical:NEXT will be a truly international gathering from the very first edition. This and the amazing number of registrations, which also is far beyond our expectations, shows the real need for an international and exclusively classical meeting.”
