The Music Cultural Association AULOS (AMCA), funded by musicians with a solid didactic and concert experience, aims to spread and widen the knowledge of music, pursuing the ideal of permanent education.
AMCA official seat is located in the southern Italian city of Noci (Bari), Puglia region, in the well-known tourist areas of “trulli” and caves. AMCA operates both at a national and international level.
The Association promotes and organizes every year the International Clarinet Competition “Saverio Mercadante”, that will be held this year the IX edition from 17 to 20 October 2013. The event is in part financed by Apulia Region and financial contributions of several international companies (Rico, Selmer, Pomarico, Buffet Crampon, Vandoren…).
Since its earliest editions the competition involved over 350 musicians from all-over the world: Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, France, Georgia, Germany, Japan, Greece, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Mexico, Holland, Poland, Portugal, Principality of Monaco, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Spain, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Hungary, USA, Uzbekistan.
The organizational high quality of the event, together with the prestigious composition of the International Jury – that so far involved world famous clarinettists (among which: Karl Leister, Germany; Alois Brandhofer, Austria; Evgeny Petrov, Russia; Harri Mäki, Finland; Victoria Soames Samek, United Kingdom; Paolo Beltramini, Italy; Gabor Varga, Hungary; Fabio Di Cásola, Switzerland) – placed the International Clarinet Competition “Saverio Mercadante” among the most prestigious in the world.
The artist direction of the event is led by the worldwide well-known clarinettist, live in Apulia Region of Italy, Antonio Tinelli.
