Roeland Hendrikx is one of the leading clarinetists in Belgium.
He is clarinet soloist at the Belgian National Orchestra since 2003. Before joining the National Orchestra in 2003, he was E-flat clarinet solo at La Monnaie, the National Opera of Belgium, for six years.
Roeland is teaching clarinet at the Maastricht Conservatory (The Netherlands) and the LUCA School of Artst (Leuven, Belgium). He has given master classes in Europe, Japan, China and the US (Manhattan School of Music NY, Long Beach University LA, De Paul Univ. Chicago, Emory University Atlanta, Oklahoma University, Yale University, Miami University).
Roeland Hendrikx appeared as a soloist with the Belgian National Orchestra, The Flemish Symphony Orchestra (B), I Fiamminghi (B), the Beethoven Academy (B), the Flemish Radio Orchestra (B), The Limburg Symphonic Orchestra (NL), the Georgia Philharmonic (US), the Symphonic Orchestra of Lithuania and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Hagen (Germany).
Roeland Hendrikx is passionate about chamber music. As a distinguished chamber musician, he has performed at well known international music festivals and venues (like the Flanders Festival, Klara Festival, Bozar, De Singel, …). He played with renowned artists and string quartets (amongst others Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort, Severine Von Eckardstein, Jan Michiels, Ursula Gorniak, France Springuel, Panocha Quartet, Tempera Quartet (Finland), Vega String Quartet (USA), Amar Quartet (Switzerland), Arriaga String Quartet, Danel Quartet, Spiegel Quartet, Kryptos Quartet).
In 2015 Roeland Hendrikx set up his own chamber music ensemble, which focuses on the rich repertoire for clarinet, piano and strings. At most there are six musicians on stage, but there are also programs offering trios, quartets or quintets.
