Australian premieres of two British musical masterpieces: one written by a composer lost to the world too soon from his experiences in WWI, and the other, a heart-breaking outpouring of grief for an only son lost during WWII. Extraordinary music not to be missed.
The concert opens with Ivor Gurney’s sublime A Gloucestershire Rhapsody (1922) followed by Cecil Armstrong Gibbs’ heart-wrenching Symphony No. 3 (Westmorland) Op. 104 (1944).
ADO concerts are streamed globally from a non-public venue for an international audience, lasting approximately 50 minutes.
