Black Dress Code is a completely new concept in performance wear, designed specifically to meet the needs of classical and jazz musicians. Founded by Daniella Gluck, mother of a teenage musician, Black Dress Code offers you beautifully cut shapes and silhouettes that move seamlessly with your performance.
When Daniella realised how difficult it was to find appropriate performance wear on the high street for her daughter, she teamed up with several designers and couturiers to create the first ever collection designed specifically to meet the rigorous requirements of classical and jazz musicians.
Launched in the summer of 2016, our elegant first collection has something to suit all body shapes and all instruments, affording the wearer the comfort, ease and style to perform at their best without the distraction of frills and bling. Our easy-care and on-trend fabrics will not crease at the bottom of your bag either. Just shake them out and look fabulous.
Serving orchestras, choirs and soloists alike, our clothes are all ethically produced in the UK and the EU so you will not be disappointed with our quality. We also promise to keep the prices as low as we can but Black Dress Code is committed not to produce clothes for landfill.
Our children’s range provides a lightweight, flowing black skirt for girls aged 7 and over and a knee-length skater dress, while teens and women will find a more extensive range of styles and silhouettes to suit all instruments and body shapes. Our men’s shirts will not disappoint either. With the help of a luxury shirt maker, we have produced the only black shirts on the market made for purpose. These stylish shirts provide ease of movement and breathability at a fraction of the price of the designer’s own range.
Black Dress Code aims to develop a close relationship with orchestras, choirs, schools and individual performers so that we make what you want. We therefore welcome any feedback and suggestions for future projects. Black Dress Code can also create bespoke collections for orchestras, schools and choirs. Contact us and tell us what you need.
