Everest Records originated a number of historic sonic and music benchmarks during its early history in the late 1950's and early 1960's, many originally on 35mm video tape.
Over several release dates beginning April 23, this collection of almost 75 recordings will be made available digitally in iTunes’ high-quality service, “Mastered for iTunes” and on Amazon's Disc-on-demand service. Each recording has been carefully transferred, restored, and remastered from the original master tapes and comes with a comprehensive booklet, including the original cover art, liner notes, technical information, and performance and production credits.
Ralph Vaughan Williams was supposed to attend the Everest session for the world premiere recording of his ninth symphony in 1958, but he died the day before.
