Mikhail Pochekin is one of the most captivating violinists of his generation. He appears with many orchestras including Mariinsky Theater Symphony, Moscow Philharmonic, Russian State Academic Symphony “Evgeny Svetlanov”, Lithuanian National Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfonica de Navarra, Russian National Philharmonic, Montenegro Symphony, Tatarstan State Philharmonic, having already made debuts in prestigious concert venues, such as Mariinsky Theater Concert Hall in Saint-Petersburg, Auditorio Nacional de Musica in Madrid, Philharmonie Gasteig in Munich, Tschaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, Palau de la Musica in Valencia.
Mikhail is a constant participant of the “Stars of the 21st Century” project organized by the Moscow Philharmonic Society. He has worked with numerous conductors, including Aleksandr Sladkovsky, Kevin Griffiths, Yuri Simonov, Bojan Sudjic, Roberto Fores Veses, Stanislav Kochanovsky, Mikhail Agrest, Dimitris Botinis to name a few.
The musician won top prizes at the prestigious international competitions, including the Pablo Sarasate, the Rodolfo Lipizer and the Jascha Heifetz violin competitions. In 2008, he was awarded the Pablo Sarasate National Prize in Spain, following which he gave a concert playing on the famous “Ex Boissier” violin made by the great master Antonio Stradivari, which used to belong to Pablo Sarasate.
