company descriptionA shared passion for and a desire to share the masterpieces of the string trio repertoire was the inspiration behind the formation of the Darian Trio in 2011. Anaïs Tamisier (Violin, France), Barbara Palma (Viola, Austria/Italy) and Alison Frilingos (Cello, Australia) are all based in Vienna, Austria and play in the Radio Symphonie Orchester Wien, the Tonkünstler Orchester Niederösterreich and as guest players in many other renowned ensembles such as Europa Galante, Wiener Kammerorchester, Orfeo 55 and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Important musical impulses for the group have included studies with Professor Johannes Meissl (Artis Quartett, Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst, Wien), Erich Höbarth (Quatuor Mosaïques, Concentus Musicus) and Peter Matzka (Wiener Streichsextett, RSO Wien). The Darian Trio were prizewinners at the international Pro Musicis Competition in Paris in 2012.
Darian is an ancient Persian name meaning „upholder of the good“.
