Groupmuse is an online platform that connects thousands of people around the country to classical music house party concerts that are hosted in living rooms. The goal of Groupmuse is to bring people together in real life and offline to engage with the great works of classical music together in intimate settings. Our events provide a safe and enriching option for young people to gather to form meaningful connections with each other and with musical masterpieces of an art form they may not think of as being accessible to them.
Our network of musicians bid on events that are created by people wanting to open up their space and host a "groupmuse," as we call the events, and they are matched to each event based on the capacity size of that groupmuse. From a soloist in a 15-capacity living room to a string quartet playing for 50 people sitting at their feet, we aim to support local classical musicians by providing these informal performance opportunities. We have between 10 and 20 groupmuses per week around the USA, with 4-6 a week happening in New York City alone.
