company descriptionThe Liszt Competition has been held every three years in Utrecht, the Netherlands since 1986. The Competition is devoted entirely to the piano works by Franz Liszt and application is open to pianists between the ages of 17 and 29. This event is one of the best-known and prestigious piano competitions in the world, and is also known for the thorough and professional support it offers its laureates. This exclusive approach, its extensive career coaching as well as the many international concert engagements for the Prize winners have given the Liszt Competition a unique profile. In addition to more than € 50,000 in prize money, every Prize winner can expect an extensive Career Development Programme with a national and international tour and CD release.
Past Prize winners include: Martyn van den Hoek (1986), Enrico Pace, Wibi Soerjadi (1989), Sergey Pashkevich (1992), Igor Roma (1996), Masaru Okada, Yundi Li (1999), Jean Dubé (2002), Yingdi Sun (2005), Vitaly Pisarenko, Nino Gvetadze (2008), Masataka Goto and Olga Kozlova (2011).
