La Banda del Soplo is an organization dedicated to air dealing, melody trafficking and puff retail. They are specialized in wind instruments, as these are the weapons they use for their misdeeds. If you pass them, don’t trust their quiet and relaxed mood: they are real harsh professionals. They are hard trained to earn people’s esteem and... blow by treachery.
It is suspected that they have committed a lot of performances in which they cause a breach of the peace in the city. In their jobs, they combine influences from the most wanted bands from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. They’re especially fond of Latin American and Eastern European styles, such as Cuban son, Brazilian choros, cha-cha-chás, Balkan rhythms, klezmer... Anything could be usefull for their undertaking. They blend all these techniques with their own style, and this make them unpredictables and hard to stop.
La Banda del Soplo’s misdeeds rise from the melting pot that is Madrid at the XXI Century, where you can´t cut yourself off from the thousands of kinds of music that are played in every quarter. So, with one foot in the Old Continent and the other one in the New, they keep updated about winds coming from everywhere: choro brasileño, son, salsa, chachachá, Balkan rythyms, klezmer... Two are their main purposes: recovering a popular repertoire and creating memorable moments with these beautiful songs.
