At El Carpio de Tajo. Door.

We learnt this melody from Marina “La Chamarreta”. She used to sing it in style of son for Nochebuena (Christmas Eve). We converted it into a son.

"Vigüela is triumphant assertion of life itself” Evangeline Kim.

Along their career of more than 30 years the band has combined their artistic work with didactic activities and field work. They are the first and, at the moment, unique professional band putting the codes of interpretation of the traditional music from Castilla, full of improvisation and subtle communication between performers, into the stage.

Vigüela's basic line-up is a quartet. The extended line-up, quite usual, hosts frequent collaborators, like Javi de Nerpio, a 22 years old amazingly wise performer from South-East of Castilla-La Mancha, and Eduardo Gómez-Olmedo, young man from Candeleda (Ávila province, Castilla y León) whose favourite plan for Saturday night is to meet the elders from the village to share rondeñas and malagueñas. The line-up includes also Cristina Gómez, singer from El Carpio de Tajo, where the band was founded.
