Born in 1975 in Hamburg/Germany, Stahmer started playing the Violoncello at the age of five and has ever since been intensively involved in music of all kinds. He performed in various music projects, different orchestras and chamber ensembles, rock bands and was brought in touch with contemporary classical music by his cello teacher Ingo Zander.
He studied business administration and marketing in Hamburg, pioneered in the new economy (online advertising) at Interactive Marketing Partner (today Deepblue Networks AG) in the late 90ies and in 2000 was co-founder of the digital communication agency (BethkeStahmer) which introduced streaming advertising in Germany.
Guided and driven by the vision to dedicate his passion and his professional experience to the music and arts sector, he studied International Arts Management in Salzburg at the ICCM (International Centre for Culture & Management) and University of Salzburg, finishing his studies with a thesis “About the Future of Classical Music” (2006). In 2005 he moved to Vienna to manage the “European Composers Congress 2006″* for the Austrian Composer Society in the frame of the “Vienna Mozartyear 2006″ where he stayed Marketing & Communication Manager from 2005-2010. He also accompanied the founding of the European Composers’ Forum (Vienna), of which he was General Secretary from 2006-2010, as well as the establishment of the European Composer & Songwriter Alliance (Brussels). In 2012 Stahmer started his own music & arts consultancy and agency “missionCulture”. He has also been the co-organiser of the Austrian-wide Musikfest der Vielfalt (Festival of Musical Diversity), initiated by the Austrian Music Council, and its editions in 2010, 2011 and 2012.**
From 2010-2012 Stahmer was Board Member of the European Music Council (EMC). Stahmer is also member of the Austrian Music Council (ÖMR). Stahmer was Jury member for the premiere edition of Classical:NEXT in 2012.
His mission: Following the latest in Audience Development strategies with the main aim to tie loyal connections between music, the arts and the audiences.
