The cultural choice for audiences has never been wider. You can see an orchestra in a car park or a quartet in a cave, visit your brand-new concert hall with its perfect acoustics or just stay at home and stream it.

As we continually strive to grow and broaden our audiences where should we focus our efforts and investment? Can "status symbol" concert houses have a meaningful role in developing audiences; bringing communities physically together through shared experiences, or would the millions be better spent on grassroots initiatives and alternative approaches? Or even new technologies?

In this session we will project ourselves into the near future to investigate the cultural appetites of future audiences and our own cultural vision for the future and how to achieve them on ever-shrinking budgets.
