In this session, we will talk about methodologies and best practices to discover, record and archive authentic folk music. The second half of the session will focus on the promotion and contemporary presentation of music heritage keeping alive the traditions and use it as an inspiration for art projects or how to integrate it into the educational system. Through the work of Miklós Both in Ukraine and Maari Kalberg in Finland and Russia, we are going to explore different approaches to collecting and presenting authentic folk music which is in the stage of disappearing all over the world.
