There is no doubt of the role the arts play in domestic and international ambassadorship. But who is leading the charge? Where are the opportunities? There are a number of programs out there that support, encourage and invest in dialogue between countries, cultures and people-to-people exchanges. Which government programs support international artists to perform throughout the world? Where can we find examples of NGOs facilitating this work?

This conference will be based on the example of the work that the Aga Khan Music Initiative is doing since 2000 in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and present the long term collaboration with Kronos Quartet.
