company descriptionLUCILIN, ensemble for contemporary music was founded in 1999 by a group of passionate luxembourgish musicians. It's the first Chamber music ensemble of Luxembourg dedicated to the promotion and creation of works from the 20th an 21st century.
Lucilin is a creation platform gathering interpreters, composers and artists of every board and its aesthetic horizon covers all fields of contemporary creation.
The heart of Lucilin consists of string quartet, piano and percussion, while wind and other instruments are invited according to the size of the projects.
Lucilin touch their audience not only by acoustic sensations, but also in an intellectual, spiritual and visual way: traditional concerts alternate with music theatre, light dramaturgy and scenic performance of compositions. "Lucilin" gets new music out of its sterile corner and doesn't recoil from spectacularly actions, which are appreciated by an enthusiastic and constantly growing audience.
The Ensemble commissions and première works by (a.o.) Jean-Luc Fafchamps, Marcel Reuter, Michael Riessler, Yan Maresz, Martin Matalon. Further compositions are commissioned to Brice Pauset, George Lentz, Reza Namavar, CS Mahnkopf and Toshio Hosokawa.
