Robert D.C. Emery (RDCE) is an award-winning conductor, composer, pianist and record producer.
RDCE is lucky enough to travel the world; ranging from performances in London's Royal Albert Hall, through to the Sydney Opera House. The Times called him 'the eccentric barefooted maestro' and the Mail quoted that 'the assured baton was controlled by the rather energetic and brilliant conductor'.
He has conducted amongst others, the London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, British Philharmonic, National Symphony, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Japan Philharmonic, Basel Symphony, Singapore Lyric, Vienna Radio Symphonie Orchester, Evergreen Philharmonic and the Central Aichi Orchestra. He has worked alongside world-class musicians and artists, such as Sir Simon Rattle and Bernard Haitink through to Blur/Damon Albarn, Meatloaf, Russell Watson and Stewart Copeland.
As a pianist, he has played over 30 concerto's worldwide and has recorded five albums to date.
In the world of theatre, his recent credits as a conductor or Musical Supervisor are: Bat Out Of Hell (Manchester Opera House, London Coliseum, Toronto, London Dominion), Tanz der Vampire (Berlin), Russell Watson (Worldwide), Zorro the Musical (London's West End), the broadway film A Tale of Two Cities, Der Besuch Der Alten Dame (Switzerland, Vienna and Japan) & Dallebach Kari das Musical (Switzerland).
As a composer of theatre, RDCE's latest musical was Anna Göldi das Musical, which premiered to sell-out audiences in 2017. He has been commissioned to compose a new score for a touring musical opening in 2021 in Europe.
As a choral composer, RDCE has produced two choral albums, all with his own arrangements of compositions of a capella music. Both albums were recorded with Arts Voices (www.arts-voices.co.uk).
Robert is highly in demand as a producer and has recently provided arrangements, orchestrations and produced albums recorded in London at Abbey Road Studios, Angel Studios, Air Lyndhurst, Paramount, and in LA at the Clear Sound Studios, Paramount, Westlake and Sunset Sound. He is a specialist in fusing together different genres of music and is in charge of the creative process on all projects at his production company, Arts Festivals Ltd.
