A unique, multi-functional cultural venue of national and regional significance, Cēsis Concert Hall is situated in Cēsis, one of the most beautiful cities in Latvia ‒ a city that combines a Hanseatic heritage with a contemporary and ambitious creative spirit.
The facilities offered by Cēsis Concert Hall include the acoustic Great Auditorium which seats 800; the Chamber Auditorium; the Organ Auditorium; the Cinema or Small Auditorium and the Exhibition Hall.
The Great Auditorium has natural acoustics. The reverberation time is approximately 2 seconds; at events using sound amplification equipment, reverberation can be reduced to 1.5 seconds. The reverberation time is changed with the help of acoustic curtains and additional portable acoustic panels that can be used to improve the quality of sound.
Since its inauguration in spring 2014, the Concert Hall has had a busy cultural schedule, with appearances by first-class musicians, theatre company performances and art exhibitions. Cēsis Concert Hall is proud to have been the venue for concerts by world-class artists like Gidon Kremer, Martha Argerich, Nicolas Altstaedt, Marko Ylönen, Mario Brunello, Daniel Muller-Schott, Didier Lockwood, Gabriel Prokofiev and many more.
Cēsis Concert Hall is producing two major internationa festivals annualy - festival dedicated to the music of the prominent Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks in April, and Cello Cesis - the only cello festival in Baltic-Nordic region, happening in September.
