Galya is an award winning Kazakh/British violinist. Leader of the Symphony Orchestra of India and the London Contemporary Orchestra spanning over a period of 15 years. She explores drone, folk, ambient classical and electronic music and moves continuously between roles of composer, performer, experimental musician and record producer.
She has closely collaborated with some of the world’s finest musicians spanning many genres including Moor Mother, Pauline Oliveros, Steve Reich, Suzanne Ciani, Laurie Spiegel, Terry Riley, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Mica Levi, Thom Yorke, Sarah Davachi and Actress.
Galya’s violin solo and improvisations can be heard on numerous films and TV productions including ‘Honey Boy’, ‘You Were Never Really Here’, ‘The Two Popes’, ‘Suspiria’, ‘Alien: Covenant’, ‘The Master’ to name but a few. She has also toured key solos for live productions of Phantom Thread, Under the Skin, The Piano and There Will Be Blood.
