The Spanish cellist, composer and video artist bridges the gap between classical music and the technological world of today. The interaction between music performance and technology is pushed to the limit in a set of own compositions created specially for his instrument. The enormous communicative power of technology face to face with it's alienating side.
David Fernández began in Madrid in 1995 his journey through dance, theater and music. Collaborating through the years with Robert Lepage, Angelica Liddell, La Fura dels Baus, Misha Maisky, among others. He has also produced 3 recordings with his own music label.
Acclaimed by Spain's press critics for his astonishing theatrical performances, 17 different productions with his own company also confirm him as a writer and director. He integrates daily life technology into his work, where the classical music has yet a strong echo. Since 2011 he has established himself in Berlin, focusing on the cello with his project Ecce cello and Stegreif Orchester, from which he is a founding member and stage director.
