Some two hundred years had passed since the founding of the firm, years during which Editions Henry Lemoine had published works by the most celebrated composer, including Chopin, Berlioz, Donizetti, Halévy, Franck, Gounod, Messiaen and Piazzolla. Two hundred years of successful activity which established the firm's success, which saw too the publication of Solfège des solfèges, Les Classiques favoris, Chant classique, Le Panthéon des pianistes and Danhauser's Théorie de la Musique - to mention but a few.
Editions Henry Lemoine refuses to rest on its "classics" and, since the eighties, has confirmed its role as a specialist in musical teaching. Amongst the musical training works and instrumental methods widely adopted by music teachers, note the famous Méthode de piano (piano method) by Charles Hervé and Jacqueline Pouillard, translated into 7 languages.
With this strong foundation in educational and instrumental fields, Editions Henry Lemoine has also a significant place in the field of music for concerts, where its action for contemporary music has continuously spread since 1980.
Besides composers as prestigious and worldwide recognized as Hugues Dufourt, Tristan Murail, Michaël Lévinas, Edith Canat de Chizy, Ichiro Nodaïra, Bruno Mantovani, Régis Campo, Philippe Hurel, Michael Jarrell and Gérard Pesson, Editions Henry Lemoine back up young composers such as Thomas Lacôte, Bastien David and Camille Pepin.
