Joana Rolo (Classical:NEXT 2018 Fellow - Codarts)
Portuguese multifaceted pianist, active as a solo performer, a chamber musician and a dance accompanist.
Portuguese pianist Joana Rolo has studied the Bachelor of piano at Codarts with Aquiles Delle Vigne and Jean-Bernard Pommier and is currently concluding her Master in the same institution. A multifaceted pianist, Joana has been active as a solo performer, a chamber musician and a dance accompanist, working on a repertoire mostly focused on the classic composers (Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Debussy, Ravel, Poulenc, Rachmaninov and many others).
In parallel to her activity as a performer Joana has been a passionate teacher. Her commitment to the arts education has brought her to lead projects with several NG0’s (Nepal, Mozambique, etc..) providing creative training to the local music schools and teachers. Besides her professional activity Joana is an enthusiastic ballet dancer, a regular swimmer and a beginner (but eager!) scuba-diver.
