Neu Musica Contemporania, SL
Neu Records is a newly established independent label devoted to recording contemporary music in surround high definition formats.
Neu Arts (Neu Música Contemporània SL) is a company based in Barcelona devoted to audio recordings and music management. The company has made more than 40 classical and contemporary recordings for various labels, as well as producing selected surround contemporary music albums on its own record label: Neu Records.
Listening to a Neu Records surround recording is not like attending a concert; instead it means placing yourself at the centre of the sound experience. Furthermore, contemporary music does not need to comply with the spatial concepts of a classical concert. Playback equipment is a tool that permits the creation and reproduction of acoustic spaces and it allows us, in collaboration with composers, to design 360° spaces where music envelops us.
Blanc (2011), a selection of choral works by the Catalan composer Bernat Vivancos recorded in Riga in January 2011 by the Latvian Radio Choir, was named best album of the year by music critics in Catalonia. Niwa (2012) by Ramon Humet (Olivier Messiaen International Composition Prize and XXIV Queen Sofia International Composition Prize), was recorded by London Sinfonietta and Nicholas Collon in Watford Colosseum (London), and has been described as a great success by Spanish critics.
