The Competition will be at first held online, from August 17th, 2020 (Eliminatory Round) and consequently live in Cremona on September 26th, 2020 (Final Round) and in Milano and St. Petersburg in 2021 (Winner’s Recitals). All amateur pianists from every country are welcome to participate, as long as they have never been professional pianists. Candidates will be divided in two Categories, namely for those with or without a Music Degree, amongst which the Jury will select 10 Finalists and, successively, 5 winners.
«It’s wonderful to have such a prestigious and authoritative Jury for a Competition dedicated to amateur pianists – claims Roberto Prosseda -. This Competition intends to prove how the amateur and professional realities really complement each other and wants to encourage a positive and empathic way of making and sharing music together».

The Organizers will, in addition, realize a limited number of DVDs, containing the Finalists’ performances, who will all receive their own recording. The five Winners of the Competition will be awarded the following: Winner’s Recital in Milano, within the context of the MiAmOr Music Festival 2021, Winner’s Recital in St. Petersburg, Written Evaluation, elaborated and signed by the Jury, Interview on Pianist Magazine. In addition, the Candidate from either Category, judged to be particularly worthy of mention, will receive the Absolute First Prize, consisting in the enrollment to PianoLink’s 2020/2021 Piano and Orchestra Workshop: with an overall value of €4.000, offered by Yamaha, this prize includes lessons throughout Europe, rehearsals and Final Concert with Symphonic Orchestra in Milano. Travel and accommodation expense will be covered within Europe.
The CremonaMusica Prize, consisting in €1.000, will instead be awarded to the Finalist whose video will have received the highest number of likes and live audience votes during the MiAmOr Music Festival 2021.
«The role of a reference Exhibition and Fair of top quality instruments, such as ours, becomes that to be an occasion in which all the world can come together – remarks De Bellis -. The role of amateur musicians deserves to be more known and appreciated, so for this reason I want to highlight the importance of this Competition. From this stance, as well as others, the Fair will play a great role in connecting the protagonists of the amateur world with an international component of the highest level ».
«This contest is a true opportunity –Iannantuoni concludes -. Amateurs are a tremendously important category in the musical world, and this Competition is like a nursing place, in which one can have the possibility to confront himself with professionals, while maintaining the privilege of being “free”, unhampered by profession in a musical context. Our goal is to encourage amateur involvement to improve the quality of our society».
