with Alex Groves (UK), composer
Fabian Russ (Germany/France), composer & creative director, Orchestronik
As a new feature in the Classical:NEXT Programme, the Freelancer DIY Exchange Session invites you to take part in an open forum: enter the room and chose your table and topic on which to converse, share with and learn directly from one another in round-table discussions taking place simultaneously. One table will be led by freelance composer Alex Groves: Here, share difficulties and solutions with colleagues and address the many challenges and discuss the learning lessons and next steps freelancers can take across the industry. Trudy Chan, from Black Tea Music, will reveal new models of music publishing that go beyond the traditional model of music publishing houses and introduce best practices based on experience. Germany-native Fabian Russ will present his work as an "orchestronic" practitioner and guide a discussion on the creation of ideas, where they come from, how we harness them and how they are best applied.
