You probably wouldn’t guess from looking at a map that it takes four hours to fly from Santiago de Chile to Lima in neighbouring Perú (more than you could fly from Paris to anywhere in Europe). It takes another six from there to Mexico City. Long distances, a complicated history, and a rugged geography of mountains, deserts and tropical forests make international collaboration in Latin America a lot less evident than in Europe, in spite of a common language (or closely related, in the case of Brazil). But as trade and general relations between countries in the region flourish, broad roads of collaboration are opening up in every field. Existing cultural networks, both formal and informal, are getting stronger and new ones are emerging.

We invite all delegates from Latin America, as well as others currently working with cultural institutions in the region, planning to do so or simply curious to know more about its cultural scene, to come and share their experiences, thoughts and new ideas about networking with and within this vast and fascinating continent.
