Lina Andonovska

Quickly gaining recognition internationally as a fearless and versatile artist, flautist Lina Andonovska has performed in concert halls around Europe, China, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and in the market places of East Timor. Critically acclaimed for her interpretation of recently written works, Rolling Stone hailed her performance of Bun-Ching Lam’s piccolo concertino as “superbly played, (ranging) from sustained ‘somebody-please-get-that-tea-kettle’ squeaks to the flit and flutter of its beautifully lilting trills…” Having recently returned to Europe, she leads a diverse career as soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player, educator and collaborator. In 2015/2016 she completed a two-month Asialink Residency bringing contemporary classical repertoire to audiences in Timor-Leste as well as collaborating with local musicians. Prior to this she was musician in residence with Crash Ensemble, Ireland’s foremost contemporary music ensemble.
