The violinist and composer Jasser Haj Youssef is one of the most charismatic musicians of his generation. His sensual melodies and intuitive groove have earned him invitations to play with both the greatest artists of his native Tunisia and big international names, including Barbara Hendricks, Didier Lockwood, Youssou N’Dour and Sister Marie Keyrouz.
Jasser is a true original : he was the first to have rediscovered the viola d’amore. He has mastered this extraordinary instrument and uses it to play superb, multifaceted music — with classical, North African, jazz and Indian influences — that is surprisingly modern.
His personal projects, he presents on stage with his quartet (piano, bass, percussion and violin) soloist or a recital violin / viola d’amore.
