For the 100th birthday of Billie Holiday, Beverly Jo Scott realized one of her long-time dreams by creating a tribute to this icon and the superb female artists of Blues-Jazz that she influenced (Nina Simone, Dinah Washington…).
Through her exceptional voice and personality, BJ gives us an opportunity to discover and rediscover the grand classics as well as some rare pearls.
As emblematic Coach of “The Voice Belgique” she has met many young and talented singers impassioned by this era.
Through them, she became aware of the connection between the musical sensitivities of her own childhood and today’s young generation. Carmen, her finalist of the 2015 season is BJ’s spotlight guest in Satin Dolls. With the warmth of her voice and the simplicity of her interpretations (reminiscent of Julie London), this young and vibrant singer incarnates a musical style that has neither age nor frontier, adding an elegant freshness to this unique concert.
The vocal complicity of the two artists sends chills down the spine and the raw musical arrangements bring us closer to the spirit of the women who made this musical style legendary.
Renowned for her signature humour and natural charisma, as Mistress of Ceremony in Satin Dolls, Beverly Jo Scott evokes an age of musical sensuality filled with pure emotion.
