Here you can find how to get to Rotterdam from around the world, and how to get around the city once you have arrived:

Getting to Rotterdam

Whether you take the train from a city nearby or a flight from overseas, Rotterdam is very well connected by international, national and local public transport systems and therefore easy to reach and access.

By Plane

  • Rotterdam The Hague Airport
The airport is the third largest in the country and located north of the city. Flights regularly land there from all major cities in the neighbouring countries. Airlines that fly to Rotterdam include: Transavia, City Jet, British Airways, BMI Regional, Turkish Airlines, TUI, Jetairfly, Fly VLM, Vueling.

  • Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
Schiphol Airport is the main international airport of the Netherlands, located 20 minutes southwest of Amsterdam. It is Europe's fourth busiest airport and most major airlines operate flights to Amsterdam.

By Train

Rotterdam is easily reachable from most major cities throughout Europe. Many international highspeed trains as well as intercity trains from all over the Netherlands stop at Rotterdam Central Station.

For delegates coming from France or Belgium, the Thalys high-speed train will probably be the best option. The train runs ten times a day and you'll be in Rotterdam in no time. Coming from the UK you should first take the Eurostar to Brussels and get on the Thalys there. More information on the Thalys can be found on their website.
